2. Vacancies

The number of vacancies announced by Commission is 980. Out of total vacancies, 27 seats are reserved for PH Category.

3. Eligibility Criteria

A. Age Limit (As on 1st August 2017)

Not below 21 years and not above 32 years as on 1st August 2017 i.e. candidate should have been born not before 02.08.1985 and not after 01.08.1996.

C. Educational Qualifications

Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government.

D. Number of Attempts

You can give the UPSC Civil Service Exam 6 times.
(i) An attempt at a Preliminary Examination is considered to be an attempt at the Civil Services Examination.
(ii) If a candidate actually appears in any one paper in the Preliminary Examination, he/she is considered to have made an attempt in the UPSC Examination.

The selection procedure consists of 3 Stages.
  • Stage I – Objective Prelims
  • Stage II – Subjective Mains
  • Stage III Personal Interview

  • You will receive a provisional Registration Number and Password.
  • Make sure to note these down and save them.
  • Complete the Part II of application.
  • You will also be required to pay online.
